The Story of Park Avenue Laundry
Park Avenue Laundry in Bemidji, Minnesota, was established on July 5th, 1985, by Karen and David MaGaurn. Two young entrepreneurs with little ones, the laundry served as their cornerstone business on Paul Bunyan Dr for 20+ years. After watching their children grow up and teaching them how to manage a business hands-on, Karen and David sold the property to a bank. A year later, Karen and David would ask their daughter Monaya MaGaurn to help relocate and open a new Park Avenue Laundry facility. This one, located at a previous commercial laundry facility next door to the old Smart Skate and Putt & Go. It would take Monaya and her father a whole year to build and finish Park Avenue Laundry on Hannah. In 2008, the day Monaya graduated from college, we opened the doors at Park Avenue Laundry on Hannah Avenue. Since we have added new washers and dryers to the mix, opened and closed a dog wash, and so much more.

The Physics of Laundry: Part One: The Basics
Atomic Forces Behind Your Laundry As a laundromat owner and a geospatial engineering physicist, I’m always fascinated by the microscopic forces at play in our washing machines and dryers.
